Old german 4/4 violin, made in Mittenwald, labelled: Josef Kloz in Mittenwalde anno 1795. The instrument remains in ready to play condition with some old repaired cracks, good ebony set up, old master made bridge and new strings. The ribs, scroll, one-piece back made of beautiful softly flamed maple. The top of straight high to medium grained spruce. The original golden amber varnish has tears and wears. LOB measures 361 mm. The total length of the violin is 590 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 166 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 201 mm.
