Oleg Konstantinovich (1892-1914) — son of the poet K.R., great-grandson of Nicholas I. In 1913, he was promoted to cornet in the Life Guards Hussar Regiment. From the beginning of World War I, as part of his regiment, he took part in military operations on the Northwestern Front. In September 1914, Prince Oleg, commanding a platoon in his regiment, was seriously wounded and died shortly thereafter. Oleg Konstantinovich became the only member of the Russian Imperial House to die on the front during World War I.
