Very rare Yoshio Kanamori is widely recognized as a distinctive artist whose works, often themed around lakes and mountains, have a fantastical quality. This piece was created in celebration of receiving the Blue Ribbon Medal. Brief Biography of Yoshio Kanamori Born in 1922, Toyama Prefecture Studied under the esteemed printmaker Munakata Shiko, and exhibited works in the Japan Print Association and the National Painting Association exhibitions. He won the National Painting Association Award in 1952 and 1953. In 1958, awarded third place at the St. James Exhibition in New York. In 1968, invited to Canada and the United States for cultural festivals to provide technical guidance and display his works. His works are collected by over 20 museums worldwide, including the Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1970, published a limited edition print collection titled "Lake Mountain," followed by "Lake Mountain: Phantom Reflections" in 1975, which was a huge success.
