A clarinet from the top segment of this firm. The Karl
Hammerschmidt “Klingson” is not made anymore
but an email to the firm was enough to
get a message back which said the following:

Sie haben eine Böhm-Klarinette welche in dieser Form 
nicht mehr produziert wird - vergleichbar mit einem 
Öhlersystem (Deutsches Modell) in der höchsten Stufe.
Es ist auf jedenfall ein äußerst hochwertiges Profimodell.

For the sake of clarity, this does not concern a Bb clarinet:
“B” stands for Bb in Germany and “H” for B...
The leather pads with which only expensive models
could be made are in good condition. The mechanism
also still works fine. I expect that this clarinet comes from
the seventies, judging from the case. THE SPECIAL
offers additional trill key options. The entire key system
is made of Neusilber. Two two long middle-
sections are provided with the inscription: Karl Hammer-
schmidt - Burgau - On a separate part, it says "Klingson"
and the term “Special”. The second middle part
reads “Hammerschmidt Spezial” and the letter “B”.

The barrel and the bell are not marked. The mouthpiece
probably does not belong to the clarinet and is by Boosey &
Hawkes ( England ) 592 and the number 2. A small
chip has come off the edge - can be seen from the inside (photo)
You do not feel it when playing, and it does not directly influence
the sound formation. I have not found a serial number.
Case in decent condition. It has not been played for some time
and although the instrument has been cleaned recently, a quick
adjustment is soon needed, of course.
