Niki de Saint Phalle - Nana by Niki

Niki de Saint Phalle - Nana by Niki
Plastic, Silkscreen/Serigraph - Artist's stamp - Limited edition - 2018

In mint condition, a very colourful inflatable sculpture by the world famous artist Niki de Saint Phalle. The design is already from the early 1960s and this can be seen on two magazine photos where she posed with various inflatable sculptures, see the last two photos.

This lot contains the original sealed packaging which has not been opened before, see the last few photos. The photo series was made of an opened copy, but only opened for the photos. Multipe photos were taken in a museum by us.

The name Il Giardino dei Tarocchi on the inflatable sculpture has to do with the sculpture Park Giardino dei Tarocchi (Tarok - or Tarot-garden) located at Capalbio, close to the village of Pescia Fiorentina, southern of Grosseto in Tuscany, Italy, which is a design by Niki de Saint Phalle. The execution was done together with the sculptor Jean Tinguely with whom she was married, and took over fifteen years from 1979.
