Sailing boats in the Port of Rotterdam.

Very nice etching of the Port of Rotterdam with sailboats full in the wind.

The art of drawing the choppy water in such a way, so that it seems that the sailboats are in motion.

Etching - 42.5 x 32 cm.

With passe-partout and frame - 60 x 46 cm.

Signed by hand in the bottom right corner with pencil.

Etching is ACID-FREE and framed with an acid-free passe-partout and a brown wavy lframe of 2 cm wide.

Etching, mat and frame are in good condition.

 Jan Sirks was a Dutch graphic designer who mostly painted, water coloured, drew and etched in the Rotterdam harbours, of animals, cityscapes and landscapes in a romantic realistic style.

Sirks was co-founder of the Rotterdam artist group “De Branding”.

Despite the fact that Sirks was an autodidact, he was one of the few locals from Rotterdam who in the art world has had a relatively good existence and recognition.
