This pendant is an openwork cross of the quatrefoil type, characterized by four rounded arms and a circular opening in the center. Such crosses were widely worn in Eastern Europe during the Middle Ages as personal devotional or protective objects, typically suspended on a cord or chain and worn close to the body.
The pendant was produced by casting in a bronze alloy. The surface shows a stable, natural patina consistent with long-term age and burial.
The suspension loop is integral to the casting and intact, indicating the pendant was intended for regular wear. No modern alterations, repairs, or restorations are visible.
This is a genuine historical artifact and a good representative example of medieval personal religious jewelry. Suitable for collectors of medieval artifacts, early Christian objects, or Eastern European archaeology.
A modern necklace is included.
