Myanmar amber, also known as Burmese amber, is a fossilized tree resin mainly found in the Hukawng Valley of Myanmar. It is renowned for its exceptional ability to preserve ancient organisms, including insects, plants, and other creatures commonly trapped within it. This amber is estimated to be around 99 million years old, dating back to the Cretaceous period (before the Tyrannosaurus appeared!). It has a rich golden color with reddish-brown tones and high transparency, making it highly valued by collectors and scientists and providing us with a rare window into prehistoric ecosystems.
