With seventy five colour plates by the author's husband, Robert Charles Goff, collated and complete. Robert Goff was a printmaker and painter who specialised in topographical scenes, and in this work, Clarissa uses her husband's paintings to springboard into her descriptions of Tuscan architecture, painting, and culture. The couple moved to a villa overlooking Florence in the 1890s, and wanted to provide a guide for those visiting the region. Uncommon. Rarity.
