Beschrijving van de verkoper
Three Dimensional Time Globe – Veazey Corporation / Replogle – ca. 1960 – Rare electric world time globe
Very rare Three Dimensional Time Globe made by The Veazey Corporation, Wichita Kansas, in cooperation with Replogle Globes Inc., U.S.A., dating from around 1960.
This unusual electric globe is not a standard terrestrial globe but a mechanical / electrical time globe.
Instead of the globe rotating, the time ring around the equator rotates, allowing the correct time to be read at every location on earth. When the light is switched on, the globe also shows the day and night zones depending on the selected month.
The base contains a digital clock and alarm display, making this a very characteristic mid-century scientific / decorative object.
Such globes were produced in limited numbers and are today sought after by collectors of globes, scientific instruments, and mid-century design.
