Een elegante Chinese porseleinen gemberpot versierd met onderglazuurblauw met het klassieke patroon "Prunus op gebarsten ijs". Dit motief symboliseert de komst van de lente en is een van de meest iconische ontwerpen in Chinese exportkunst.
Origin: China, Jingdezhen.
Period: Late 19th Century (Guangxu period / Late Qing Dynasty).
Design: Hand-painted flowering plum blossoms (Prunus) against a vibrant "cracked ice" background. The execution shows varying shades of cobalt blue, typical for authentic 19th-century pieces.
Mark: Double ring mark in underglaze blue on the base, a common reference to the Kangxi period found on high-quality late Qing export porcelain.
Lid: The jar is topped with a decorative, openwork metal lid (brass/bronze), likely a later European addition or replacement, which adds to its antique charm.
Condition: In good antique condition. As shown in the macro photographs, there is a visible glaze rub/kiln mark from the firing process, which is a characteristic feature of authentic period porcelain and not a modern defect.
