The Douglas Laing & Co. Old Particular Bowmore 15 Year Old (48.4%) is a single cask Islay single malt Scotch whisky, independently bottled as part of the highly regarded Old Particular series. Known for its authenticity and craftsmanship, this range showcases whisky in its purest form—without chill-filtration or added colouring.

With a maturation period of 15 years and a limited outturn (typically around 300 bottles depending on the cask), this release represents a refined and collectible expression of Bowmore Distillery’s distinctive coastal style.

Key Characteristics & Reviews:

Flavor Profile:
A balanced and expressive Islay profile combining gentle peat smoke with maritime influences. Expect notes of sea breeze, charred wood, subtle sweetness, citrus, and light spice, supported by an oily texture and elegant structure.

Exclusivity:
As a single cask release within the Old Particular range, each bottling is unique and limited in quantity, enhancing its appeal among collectors and enthusiasts.

Age & Production:
Aged for 15 years in a refill cask (often a hogshead), allowing the distillate character of Bowmore to shine rather than being dominated by wood influence.

Bottling Information:
While the exact bottling date is not fully legible from the image, comparable releases of this type (e.g., vintages around 2001–2002) were typically bottled around 2017.

Evaluation:
Highly regarded for its balance between smoke, sweetness, and maritime character. Reviewers often highlight its elegance, drinkability, and the way it captures Bowmore’s classic Islay DNA in a more restrained, refined style compared to heavier peated malts.
