The box is built on a solid wooden structure, completely clad in thick sheet of genuine silver. The entire exterior features intricate, hand-hammered and repoussé decorations in deep relief, depicting detailed floral and vegetal motifs, demonstrating the craftsmanship of the era. The interior is fully lined with its original salmon-pink satin, elegantly finished in a button-tufted style with decorative pearl-like rivets. The object retains its original brass/bronze trefoil key, and the locking mechanism is fully functional. The silver plating has been chemically tested with acid proof (as per the attached documentary photos).
