Launched in 2021 as the successor to the historic Brut Premier, the Collection series represents a revolution in multi-vintage Champagne — each release named after the number of blends since the house’s founding, with a unique approach combining a base vintage (2019, 54%), a perpetual reserve aged since 2012 (36%) and oak-aged reserve wines from 2012–2018 (10%). The result is a Champagne of extraordinary complexity and consistency, described by Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon as “a living archive of Roederer’s terroir.” The 244 is a blend of 41% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Noir and 26% Pinot Meunier from Roederer’s 240 hectares of biodynamically farmed vineyards.
