Rare trilobed Art Nouveau vase by Beyermann & Co in cobalt blue glass, decorated with a woodland scene by means of the so called reduction technique, a speciality of the manufacturer. The bohemian (Haida) glass factory Beyermann & Co was active from 1865-1928 under direction of the brothers Gustav, Max and Frank Beyermann, specializing in vases, bowls and other decorative objects. The reduction technique has become their signature decor and was applied under a raised CO2 level during the enameling process and acid treatments that followed. The contours of the subjects were accentuated to create the desired effect and decor. A unique technique and typical style for this manufacturer which always gives a light iridescent finish.
