Famous Seto Ware Masters - Kom - Keramiek - matcha kom

This matcha tea bowl was made by the famous Japanese Seto-ware craftsman Yanagawa Murakuyama. It comes with the author's exclusive paulownia wood storage box and biographical documents. It is preserved in a complete set. It is an orthodox Japanese tea ceremony collection utensil. The tea bowl is made of hand-drawn rough pottery. The inner wall is coated with a warm matte white glaze. The outer wall is embossed with a weeping willow pattern. Partially blended with traditional Oribe-fired green glaze kiln changes, the glaze color is naturally smudged. The rough pottery texture highlights the simple wabi-sabi aesthetics. The author's "Shuo Shan" signature is incised on the side of the base of the bowl, making the craftsmanship highly recognizable. Yanagawa Murakusa was born in the Seto ceramics production area in 1938. He has been deeply involved in traditional Seto pottery crafts all his life. He has been selected into the Japanese Modern Arts and Crafts Exhibition, the Light Wind Exhibition, and the Asahi Ceramics Exhibition many times and won many craft awards. He is a registered member of the Japan New Craftsmen Alliance. His works combine traditional tea pottery heritage with modern creative aesthetics, and are highly recognized in the Japanese tea set collection circle.
