Niki Lauda was an Austrian former Formula One driver and a three-time F 1 World Drivers Champion, winning in 1975, 1977 and 1984. He is considered by some as one of the greatest F 1 drivers of all time.

Lauda was seriously injured in a crash at the 1976 GP at the Nürburgring, during which his Ferrari burst into flames, and he came close to death after inhaling hot toxic fumes and suffering severe burns. However, he survived and recovered enough to race again just six weeks later at the Italian Grand Prix.

Here we offer a fantastic vintage 1985 GPA Niki Lauda helmet with chin straps (as Niki used it). This helmet is a recreation of the helmet which Niki used when he drove the Iconic McLaren F1 team in his final Formula One year. This helmet is based on a vintage GPA helmet and made to look like the helmet Niki used at the beginning of 1985, the year after his 1984 F1 championship. The Helmet has the original visor and interior, we have relined the helmets foam, so it looks and feels like new and we added the communication device on the side. I’s very nicely painted in Niki’s typical red fluorescent (Marlboro) colour that he used in 1984 and 1985 and it comes complete with all the correct brand decals.
