Item Description This is a traditional Japanese incense burner (koro) cast in dark-patinated metal, designed in the classical karako-ashi style with three tripod legs formed as playful child figures (karako) supporting the rounded body. The lid is topped with a seated figure of a young boy resting on a wave-patterned dome, and the neck of the vessel is encircled by a cast rope-and-tassel motif for added decorative detail. The underside of the body bears an impressed seal mark reading "白峰" (Hakuho), identifying it as a signed piece, consistent with traditional Japanese metalware workshop practice. The piece measures approximately 13 cm in height, 10 cm in width, and 9 cm in depth, with a compact and solid weight in hand. It would suit display as a decorative object or for use with incense, in keeping with traditional Japanese tea and incense culture. Size Height: 13 cm Width: 10 cm Depth: 9 cm Weight 615 g Condition The piece shows a naturally aged, matte-black patina throughout, with light surface scratches and a small dent visible on the body consistent with age and prior handling. No functional issues have been noted; this item is intended as a decorative or collectible object rather than for functional use with fire or heat.
