Antique Dutch Folk Art Spoon Rack with Frisian Kerfsnede Carving and Six Provincial Souvenir Spoons

A beautiful piece of Dutch folk art, combining intricate traditional wood carving with six decorative provincial souvenir spoons. Together, they capture the charm of Dutch regional heritage and the craftsmanship of a bygone era.

The wooden spoon rack is richly decorated with geometric motifs, radiating star rosettes and symmetrical patterns characteristic of kerfsnede, the traditional technique of carving geometric designs into wood. The elaborate ornamentation evokes the Frisian woodcarving tradition, giving this functional object the character of a miniature work of folk art.

Displayed across the carved wooden panel are six metal souvenir spoons featuring regional names and heraldic motifs. Each spoon contributes to a visual story of the Netherlands, reflecting the importance of provincial identity, local emblems and the tradition of collecting regional souvenirs.

The contrast between the warm, richly toned wood and the detailed metalwork makes this an appealing decorative ensemble. It brings together two distinctive expressions of Dutch cultural heritage: traditional decorative woodwork and provincial memorabilia.

Versatile display: The rack can be hung in either orientation, allowing you to choose which way the spoons face. One hanging fitting is present; an additional hanging point can be added to accommodate your preferred orientation.

Dimensions: 25 × 18 × 4 cm (height × width × depth).

A distinctive collectible for enthusiasts of Dutch antiques, Frisian folk art, traditional craftsmanship and regional memorabilia.
