Beschrijving van de verkoper
Vintage Italian Brass "Lady Legs" Novelty Nutcracker - with Original Box - c. 1970
A wonderful and highly collectible mid-century modern vintage novelty nutcracker, masterfully cast in solid brass in the iconic shape of stylized lady's legs (internationally known as the "Lady Legs" or "Risqué" design).
This specific piece was manufactured by an artisanal brass foundry in Northern Italy (Lombardy/Veneto region) around 1970. What makes this particular lot exceptionally rare and desirable for collectors is the inclusion of its scarce, original red-and-white cardboard presentation box, clearly marked with the Italian text "Schiaccianoci - Made in Italy".
Design & Aesthetics:
The object is a fantastic example of mid-century pop-art and goliardic/novelty functional design. It perfectly blends practical everyday utility with a playful, provocative undertone. The anatomical lines are beautifully streamlined, typical of the late 1960s and early 1970s Italian design era.
