Antique Junghans "Joker" Carriage Clock with Musical Alarm – Germany, c. 1890-1910

Up for auction is a beautiful and highly collectible antique German carriage clock manufactured by the renowned maker Junghans (Württemberg) between 1890 and 1910.
This is the sought-after "Joker" model, featuring a distinctive dual-alarm system that combines a traditional bottom bell with an internal musical movement (cylinder mechanism).

The clock features a brass and silver-plated/chromed case with beautifully engraved floral and baroque details on the front panel, movable top handle, and beveled glass side panels that showcase the intricate mechanics.
The dial displays Arabic numerals, a top seconds sub-dial, and a lower sub-dial for setting the alarm.
The movement is officially stamped with the iconic 8-pointed Junghans star, "WURTTEMBERG," and caliber "278."

Condition Report:

- Aesthetic Condition: Very good vintage condition with an authentic age-related patina on the brass and casing. The beveled glass panels and dial are intact.

- Mechanical Condition: The clock starts and runs for a period, but then stops. Both mainsprings (timekeeping WT and alarm WA) are fully intact and NOT broken.

- Important Note for Buyers: The movement needs a professional cleaning and fresh lubrication (oil is currently dried/gummed up with dust). Sold as a restoration/service project for collectors.

- Accessories: Comes complete with its matching winding key.

Dimensions : 16 cm × 13.3 cm × 9.8 cm
