Islamitisch Brons Ring - Middeleeuwen 10e - 12e eeuw AD (Zonder Minimumprijs)
Medieval Islamic Bronze Ring – 10th–12th Century AD – 22x21 mm – 5.22 g
A solid bronze ring from the Islamic world, dating to the 10th–12th century AD. The ring features a wide band and a broad, slightly raised bezel with traces of worn linear engravings—possibly a Kufic inscription or geometric motif. The surface has developed a rich green patina over centuries, characteristic of ancient bronze oxidation. Its simplicity and bold profile suggest a utilitarian function, possibly as a personal seal or talismanic ornament.
Rings of this type were widespread across Islamic territories, from the Abbasid Caliphate to regions influenced by Persian and Fatimid culture. The absence of a stone or glass inlay and the monolithic cast are typical of modest yet durable personal adornments of the era. Despite the wear, the ring retains strong presence and historical significance.
