Christmas group – wood – Africa – 20th century
Professionally shipped – more than 850 five-star reviews worldwide.
Very beautiful African nativity scene, fully hand-carved. The figures are rich in characterful details, clearly the work of an experienced woodcarver. The scene includes Mary and Joseph by the manger, shepherds with animals, and three kings. The Jesus figure was later replaced by an abstract wooden form.
Notably, the large, handcrafted barn made of banana leaf and sisal fiber, which together with the woodcarving forms a unique and authentic set.
Height of figurines approximately 18 cm, in good condition with normal signs of use. Note that Maria's arm is glued.
