Description from the seller
Beautiful tilting table mirror (or dressing table mirror) characterized by an elegant and sober design, probably dating from the Late Victorian or Liberty period. The frame is made of lacquered wood with a matte finish, which enhances its silhouette.
The mirror has an oval shape and is mounted on a support that allows it to tilt (swing), a typical feature for use on a dressing table or vanity. The frame is supported by two vertical side uprights ending in decorative pinnacled tips. The base is solid and rests on feet, with a stylized railing of columns. The most distinctive feature is the crest carved on the top part of the frame, depicting a flying bird or heraldic eagle, with wings that move and are fixed to the back with two screws.
This piece is ideal for vintage object collectors and for those wishing to add a touch of antique charm to an environment, serving both as a functional mirror and a decorative sculpture.
In good vintage condition, with a finish that shows a pleasant patina from age and use. The mirror is intact, and the tilting mechanism is functional. The base has three holes and a small crack starting from one, all details shown in the photos.
Perfect as a focal point on an antique dressing table or a modern console to create a contrast of styles. The slender silhouette and the crest detail make it an exceptional piece for those who love furnishings with a story to tell.
Dimensions
Height 100 cm x width 85 cm, the base and columns are 65 cm.
Weighs approximately 7 kg.
