Description from the seller

Stefano Trapanese is a leading artist in the province of Salerno, Italy, and is consistently ranked in the top 10 of national profile masters in Italy (source: PitturiAmo.com).

Splendid reinterpretation of the myth of Apollo and Daphne masterfully carved in marble by Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1623, visible at the Galleria Borghese in Rome.
Transposition onto the canvas, in an original interpretation by the artist Stefano Trapanese, allows for the scene to be imbued with a dynamism that the sculptural work itself is not capable of fully expressing.
The painting is part of a collection of 12 paintings ('Metamorphosis of a Metamorphosis') by the Trapanese painter, featuring mythological subjects, specifically from the 'Metamorphoses' by Ovid and Apuleius.
The picture is equipped with a minimalist-style frame in black color (see photo).
