Hermann Siersbøl designed this unisex mid‑century Danish brooch in solid 830S silver, 34 mm wide and 5.9 g, signed '830s HS' on the back and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
The highly regarded silversmith Hermann Siersbøl (1924-1964) died at the age of 40. After finishing school, he trained as a jeweler and worked as an apprentice with silversmiths. After earning his start-up capital in 1945, his idea to make good jewelry affordable for everyone gradually grew into one of the largest companies in Scandinavia.
In keeping with the traditions of Scandinavian silversmiths, Hermann created jewelry in a variety of styles, including avant-garde, modernist, geometric, and classical designs. Traditionally he used sterling and silver, his hallmark "HS". After the designer's death on July 30, 1964, his four children carried on their father's business. According to sources, his son Henrik and granddaughter Camilla were at the head of the company in the 2010s.
Vintage Hermann Siersbøl pin-brooch from the mid-century period, produced in Denmark in the 1960s. Handcrafted from solid 830 silver. The design features a stylized flower with three openwork, gleaming petals around a spherical heart—a fine example of Scandinavian mid-century design.
It is signed '830s with the initials HS' on the back. It is in very good, well-preserved pre-owned condition with minimal signs of age and wear typical of silver, but overall it is clean and in excellent condition.
This is a very valuable brooch that is difficult to obtain, a unique item, so seize this opportunity to bid, and perhaps you will have a chance at an iconic beautiful gift.
Size: Ø 34 mm
Weight: 5.9 grams
This item is in nice, well-preserved condition with no defects and a functioning C-clasp closure. It will be securely packed and insured and sent by registered mail with smart shipping.
