Very rare flower vase from Antoine Montagnon faience pottery of Nevers, France.
Founded in 1648 in Nevers, bought by Antoine Montagnon in 1875, the faience factory also called La manufacture du bout du monde (since it was located far from the center of Nevers) was the oldest faience factory in France. It ceased operations in 2015.
This piece, almost impossible to find, is signed:
A. Montagnon J.M.
This flower spike vase therefore dates from before 1979, since J.M (Jean Montagnon), grandson of Antoine Montagnon, was running the company from 1937 to 1978.
The vase is in excellent condition.
