Description from the seller
Exceptional Set of Six Dining Chairs for Mobilgirgi, Italy, 1970s – Original Upholstery
A refined suite of six dining chairs produced by the esteemed Italian manufacturer Mobilgirgi, crafted during the most cultured years of the 1970s Italian design renaissance.
Fashioned in warm, hand-finished wood, each chair displays the unmistakable Mobilgirgi precision — joints perfectly proportioned, silhouettes slender yet beautifully firm, and that quiet confidence typical of high-quality Italian cabinetmaking.
The seats retain their original woven upholstery, a rare survivor that adds historical authenticity as well as a gentle, tactile warmth. The weave pattern, still crisp and sculptural, sits like a small landscape of craftsmanship, subtly catching the light.
With their tall, elegant backrests the chairs possess a poised, almost architectural presence — refined enough for a formal dining room, yet relaxed and organic enough for modern living spaces.
A complete set of six is increasingly difficult to source, especially in such coherent, well-preserved condition.
Highlights
Warm wooden frames with beautifully proportioned vertical elements
Original period upholstery, intact and elegant
Sculptural silhouettes with a distinctly architectural character
A rare and highly collectible set of six
A perfect acquisition for collectors of Italian modernism, architects, or anyone seeking chairs with authentic pedigree and understated aristocratic charm.
