Description from the seller
Lars Bertil Bertle (born July 17, 1925, in Helsingborg) is a self-taught Swedish painter known for his expressive, nature-inspired works. Although he practiced a different profession for many years, he began painting full-time around 1968 and soon undertook study trips across Northern Europe.
Bertles' work includes still lifes, figurative scenes of people in motion, and landscapes—often with winter motifs—depicted in vibrant colors and bold textures, applied with a palette knife. He has held solo exhibitions at, among others, the Vikingsberg Art Museum (Helsingborg), Galleri HERA (Stockholm), and Galleri Viktoria (Gothenburg).
His artworks are part of numerous public collections, such as the Helsingborgs Museum, the National Council for Public Art, the Gothenburg Museum of Art, the Malmö Museum, the Landskrona Museum, and various municipal galleries. Bertle was recognized with grants and subsidies such as the Helsingborg City Cultural Scholarship (1967) and the Swedish State Artist Grants (1978, 1992), and is praised for the dynamic, expressionist sensitivity he brought to Swedish modernism.
Beautiful and characteristic work in excellent condition.

Coastal landscape of Gotland.
Dimensions of the fabric: 50 x 49 cm.
