About the Artist:
Walburga Külz was a German-Dutch ceramicist active during the postwar period, whose work combined the raw, earthy textures of clay with sculptural, functional forms. Her lighting and wall objects reflect the Brutalist and mid-century modern aesthetic. Though relatively under-documented, her works are increasingly sought after by collectors of radical 20th-century ceramics and European studio design.
