Description from the seller
Ducati 916 Senna III - 229/300
First presented at the Bologna Motor Show in December 1994, the 916 Senna was a special edition dedicated to Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna, an avid Ducati admirer who supported this launch with his own name shortly before his tragic death during the Italian Grand Prix at Imola in May 1994.
At the time, the project was approved mainly because Claudio Castiglioni, owner of Ducati, was a close personal friend of Senna.
In total, between 1995 and 1998, Ducati launched 3 "Senna Editions" and, in every case, the net profits were donated to the Ayrton Senna Charity Institute.
This motorcycle is the latest and third version produced in the famous black and red color combination.
It is one of the 50 Senna units delivered in Brazil—a Ducati collectible with production number 229/300 for the Senna III produced.
It comes standard with a Strada engine, an SP chassis comprising Öhlins suspension, Brembo fully floating iron discs, braided brake lines, carbon fiber fenders, a carbon fiber air box, a carbon fiber license plate frame, and a numbered badge on the cylinder head. These modifications complete this final edition of the Senna 3, in addition to the already complete technical specifications of the single-seater.
The motorcycle is also equipped with impressive carbon Termignoni silencers with the best sound.
This 916 Senna was first delivered in Germany to the Stefan Scmidt Ducati dealership on 27/03/1998, as reported in the original invoice provided in the owner's country’s original currency.
After spending most of her life in a collection, the Senna underwent a light restoration in 2021 to refresh some components and remove oxidation, a thorough cleaning of the engine, and the replacement of any worn parts with new original elements. Like new!
It has traveled only 14,858 km in the 25 years since it was produced.
Only 1 owner with excellent care, which makes it an absolute collectible and a great investment.
Original bodywork. In excellent condition with no scratches.
Professional car body polishing
Engine with full service history.
Original tires
Brakes, chain, chainring and sprocket — excellent original parts.
Fork seals perfect with no leaks
Completely original

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
