Splendid copy of the Lyon edition of the Latin Bible by Jean de Moylin, in its precious, period-appropriate binding in pigskin on wooden boards, with clasps.
The biblical text includes not only the Old and New Testaments but also commentaries and concordances by Flavius Josephus, with other useful paragraphs that elaborate a particular and improved edition, based on ancient manuscripts.

Therefore not only the Bible but also concordances that connect the biblical texts to the
Jewish Antiquities and the Jewish War by Flavius Josephus, integrating religious and historical sources, with the aim of offering the devout a more 'correct' (castigatiora) version of the Scriptures, based on ancient manuscripts
(in the oldest copies)
The classic example of how Renaissance humanists sought to unite and purify the classical and sacred texts for their era.
Text in a two-column layout within regular margins.
Title printed in red and black, with a small woodcut of Saint Jerome within a four-part woodcut frame that shows God the Father and two angels in a tympanum, the six days of Creation and the Last Supper.
Large woodcut in six parts on the Creation
at the beginning of Genesis, a half-page woodcut of King Solomon at the beginning of Proverbs, a full-page woodcut on the Nativity at the beginning of the New Testament, and 121 woodcuts ornamenting the text: 91 woodcuts with borders in the Old Testament and 30 borderless woodcuts in the New Testament.
Extremely numerous decorative woodcut initials.
The Eusebian canons (D1-D3) are printed in red and black within a red architectural frame.
Splendid and sturdy contemporaneous binding in full pigskin leather mounted on wooden boards,
with dry-engraved decorations in multiple frames on the plates.
Very sturdy spine with four raised bands, with the manuscript of the title of the work.
Intact and fully functional closing hooks.
Well-preserved interiors, with fresh, clean papers.
There are numerous striking bookmarks present and preserved, whose edges are entirely blue-sprayed.
Beautiful large wood engravings on the frontispiece,
at the beginning of Genesis (Creation), at the beginning of Proverbs (King Solomon) and at the beginning of the New Testament (Nativity), as well as 121 wood engravings in the text and a copious amount of decorative initials in the text.
Sporadic mild marginal tears along the lower edge of some cards.
Light ink stains on the upper edge of the cards (very rarely in the text), but away from the text.
Ancient ex libris manuscripts (1629-1647-1706) at
title page, with a small marginal reinforcing strip at the outer edge.
Relatives and preserve the original guards.
A post-incunabula Bible not easy to obtain, in such conditions of freshness, completeness and originality.
Settled. Complete.
