Original poster from the early 1990s of the legendary (and most extravagant!) club night at Club RoXY in Amsterdam; the Loveball parties.
Originating from the private archive of one of the founders of Club RoXY.
The design is by Gert Dumbar (Studio Dumbar), the leading Dutch graphic design agency that during this period was responsible for a large part of the visual identity of RoXY and Loveball.
Loveball posters are regarded as key works within Dutch graphic design history and are included in various museum and archive collections.
The poster is characterized by the iconic pink-to-orange color gradient, playfully clean typography, and the conceptual use of hearts as a visual and substantive motif. The sponsor list is designed as a declaration of love, typical for the ironic, free, and inclusive spirit of the Loveball evenings.
