Lino Sabattini designed a silver-plated sugar shaker (Argenteria Sabattini) from Italy, dating to 1970-1980, in good used condition with light age-related scratches; dimensions 17 cm wide, 14 cm deep and 7 cm high.
Description from the seller
Lino Sabattini was an Italian artist. He worked at a brass objects workshop, where he also learned metalworking techniques. At the age of 30, Sabattini moved to Milan, where he opened a small workshop, equipped with some essential tools for his work. He strengthened his ties with the magazine Domus by Gio Ponti and met architects and students who were pupils of the designer. Between Gio Ponti and Sabattini began a friendship, which led them to collaborate at the Milan Triennials, the Venice Biennials, in various publications in magazines around the world and in solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad. He worked in Paris and Milan from 1958 to 1963 for Christofle. In 1964 he became an entrepreneur of his own ideas, founding Sabattini Silversmiths.
