Paire d'Ibedji Yorouba du Nigéria présentées nues debout sur un piédestal circulaire, coiffe délimitée par une couronne concentrique et agencée par plusieurs nattes et chignons dirigés vers le ciel. Bois, ancienne patine d’usage miel brillante, métal et perles de traite

Les Yorouba vivent entre le Nigéria et le Bénin, dans une région couverte de forêt et de savane. Le commerce des esclaves toucha fortement les population Yorouba et il contribua à la dissemination de leurs rites et de leurs croyances. Il y avait 4 fois plus de naissances gémellaires chez les Yorouba que dans le reste du monde.
