ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Perseus and Medusa revisits one of the most powerful myths of Greek antiquity — the moment where fate, courage, and intelligence collide. Rather than depicting simple violence, this artwork focuses on the precise instant of transformation: the victory of strategy over brute force.
In Greek mythology, Perseus defeats Medusa not by strength, but by intelligence. Guided by Athena, he avoids Medusa’s petrifying gaze by using a mirrored shield, striking only through reflection. This detail is essential: Medusa is never truly confronted — she is overcome indirectly.
The composition captures this tension. Perseus is shown in motion, focused yet controlled, holding Medusa’s severed head not as a trophy, but as a dangerous relic. Medusa’s expression is fragmented, dissolving into shadow, reinforcing her dual nature: both monster and victim. Cursed rather than born evil, she embodies fear transformed into punishment.
The textured background amplifies the myth’s psychological depth. Layers of paint echo stone, erosion, and time — a visual metaphor for petrification and memory. The sharp stencil cuts heighten contrast and tension, freezing the scene in an eternal moment where destiny is sealed.
This artwork is not about domination, but about mastery — of fear, of instinct, of oneself.
About the artist
I am a French stencil artist whose work bridges street art and contemporary fine art. My practice is built on contrast: instinctive, textured backgrounds combined with precise, hand-cut multi-layer stencils.
I have exhibited alongside major figures of the urban art scene such as L’Atlas, C215, Carole B, Wawapod, and Jo Di Bona at the SPERA ART FAIR.
My work has been collected across Europe, with more than 300 artworks sold internationally.
Alongside studio work, I regularly create live painting performances for major brands and institutions, including Disneyland Paris.
Each artwork is a unique original. While my stencils may be reused, every background is created spontaneously, ensuring that no two pieces are ever identical. My work exists at the intersection of mythology, urban culture, and contemporary craftsmanship.
