Product Description Mortlach releases the 2018 Dufftown trio with 12-year-old, 16-year-old and 20-year-old whiskies. Mortlach 16 Years Old is matured in ex-sherry casks. The number 2.81 on the label refers to the number of distillations. Mortlach has managed to distill its whisky 2.81 times. Mortlach also calls this process “The Way” and it begins with a distillation process that uses six different stills, with 1/5 of it being distilled a third time in another small device called the “Wee Witchie”. Tasting Notes: Colour: Amber. Aroma: Berry, Earthy, Spice, Fruity. Taste: Full-bodied, Leather, Apricot, Honey, Dark Berries, Caramel Cream. Finish: Long-lasting.
