The RUST BIRD I pendant lamp covered in natural rust is the most recognizable model of the Gie El brand. This lamp is like a bird captured mid-flight, full of harmony and dynamism at the same time. It’s a lamp full of character, designed for individuals who appreciate unconventional, Polish design.

Rust-colored sheet metal is one of the favorite materials used by the Gie El brand. As architect and co-founder of Gie El, Jacek Rypuła says, “Rust is the new gold.” We obtain the rust finish on thin steel in collaboration with nature, allowing it to leave its mark on the product. Each time it’s slightly different, subtly changed, dependent on the external atmospheric conditions. It can be confidently said that the lamp is painted by the hand of nature. The material, after obtaining the rust finish, is protected by a colorless, matte coating, making it suitable for use in interiors, not getting dirty, and not crumbling.

The modern form of the lamp revealing the light bulb allows for the use of decorative variations. For this model, we recommend using an “Edison” type bulb with a visible filament, which will further emphasize the character of the lamp and the play of light.
