History / Overview
The Silver Shadow is a luxury sedan produced by Rolls-Royce Motors between 1965 and 1981.
In 1969 the engine displacement increased from 6,230 to 6,750 cm³ and marked a turning point for the marque: it was among the first Rolls-Royce with a unibody construction and a more modern layout, while preserving the unmistakable ride comfort. Equipped with advanced features for the era (such as disc brakes and refined suspension and power-assisted steering systems), it quickly became a symbol of international prestige.
Exterior
Each Rolls-Royce could be fully customized in every detail from the order. In this case, the exterior paintwork was restored by the previous owner in the original Regal Red color and is still in beautiful condition, glossy and solid. A polishing and detailing treatment has just been completed, and the car presents itself well-preserved, with doors and bonnets opening and closing smoothly. The chrome trim is well preserved with only minimal signs from normal use, like all the typical details of a car of high quality.
The underbody is well preserved, solid, and in normal-use condition, with no signs of accidents.
Internal
The interiors are largely original, in genuine leather, well preserved, including the dashboard. They are in good condition, with a full wooden dashboard and the series’ characteristic steering wheel well preserved. The genuine trim and finishes are original and in good condition as one would expect from a high-end car of the period.
MECHANICS
The V8 engine has always been kept in good running condition: it starts up immediately and runs well, as do the transmission and clutch, while the braking is not very efficient. The car has been tested on private property; however, its technical inspection expired in February 2023, and a routine inspection may be necessary before the next technical inspection.
A rare left-hand-drive V8, originally registered in Italy, with a solid body and in a rare color, is a beautiful collectible investment.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
