Description from the seller
Mr. Arthur or Artur (1894-1983, Hungarian), Portrait of a Girl, oil on canvas 64×54 cm, signed and dated (1928) on the right.
A work of fine quality and refined execution, in which the artist demonstrates his drawing and painting technique, managing to render an expressive image and emotional impact: qualities necessary in portraiture of which Pan Arthur was a master.
His relief work was carried out mainly in England, where he took refuge during Nazi oppression and where he produced portraits of various personalities, including Winston Churchill.
In the 1950s, he stayed in Baghdad at the palace of King Faisal II, producing portraits of the Royal Family, which were later destroyed in the 1958 coup.
In good overall condition, no conservation issues are evident; the canvas and frame are original.
Photographs are an integral part of the description.
Careful packaging, traceable shipping.
