Macintosh Quadra 800 68040/33MHz Tower | The Machine, a 1993 Apple computer tower in good cosmetic condition, untested and sold as the tower unit only with no keyboard, mouse, cables, monitor or software included.
Description from the seller
From an Apple Collector, For an Apple Collector.
Offered for auction is an original Apple Macintosh Quadra 800 tower computer.
This listing concerns the tower unit only, meaning the computer itself.
No keyboard, mouse, cables, monitor, or software are included.
The Apple Quadra 800 was introduced in 1993 and features the powerful Motorola 68040 processor running at 33 MHz.
At the time, this model was positioned as a high-end professional workstation for desktop publishing, business, and educational use.
It is also notable for its compact mini-tower design and its expandability via multiple NuBus expansion slots.
The Quadra 800 originally supported System 7.1 up to Mac OS 8.1, and could be configured with large amounts of RAM for its era.
Today, it is appreciated by collectors for restoration projects, period-correct setups, or as a display piece in a vintage Apple collection.
Condition:
The unit is in good cosmetic condition for its age, with normal signs of use.
The computer has not been tested, as the correct setup is not available, and is therefore sold as untested.
Importantly, there is no battery leakage on the logic board, which is a common and serious issue with vintage Macintosh computers.
This Quadra 800 comes from a private collection and has been stored carefully indoors.
The computer will be very well packed, with great care and proper protective materials, to ensure it arrives safely and intact.
