Description from the seller
The offer features a high-quality bronze sculpture of Bala Krishna (Baby Krishna), depicted in the typical crawling pose. The figure shows the young god in lively motion, with a round child’s face, artful hairstyle, and richly adorned jewelry. In his hand he holds a ball (symbol for butter – Makhan), a classic attribute of child Krishna depictions.
The workmanship is rich in detail: finely modeled facial features, carefully designed bracelets, necklaces, and belt ornaments, as well as three-dimensionally formed hands and feet. The warm, dark brown to deep black patina gives the sculpture a pleasing aged appearance and emphasizes the contours.
Representations of the crawling Krishna symbolize innocence, divine joy, and playfulness. In the Hindu tradition, Bala Krishna is a particularly revered form of the god.
