Description from the seller
Guitar built by the old Casa Roca in Valencia, Spain. It is a brand with a long tradition and they were at the forefront in the early days of the builders of the Valencian school; it features the design and distinctive details characteristic of the brand. This guitar is larger (the current normal size) than those typically made by Roca, and for that reason this specimen is exceptional and exclusive.
Wood:
Solid Swiss spruce soundboard with a dense, uniform, marked, and straight grain, which is exceptional for the period in which it was made.
The sides and the back panel are made of high-quality solid mahogany, and the sides are cut in a very peculiar way that reveals a natural beauty of the wood that is not normally seen.
The fretboard is made of rosewood and is in very good condition thanks to the treatment that was done in the Roca workshop.
The aesthetic construction details are fabulous—the side and front fillet, the rosette; all the details are very refined and very beautiful.
The interior construction is very refined and meticulous.
The sound transports you to the era and place where it was made; it’s an aged sound that preserves the instrument’s essence and Valencian culture. As it is larger than a traditional Roca guitar, it has greater volume, brightness and presence. It is suitable for any style and easy to use.
The condition is good, it has no cracks or dings, the finish is original, the condition is exceptional, the fretboard is also practically intact, it shows signs of use typical of a guitar over 50 years old, there is a small opening in the fan-shaped cutaway, very common to occur with the passage of years on these guitars, the builders already knew about that issue and the construction is designed so that it does not pose a problem, because it has an internal reinforcement right there, so it presents no issues.
