Hala Zeist desk lamp designed by H. Busquet from the Netherlands, metal with an industrial mid‑century style (1960–1970); dimensions 40 cm high, 32 cm wide, base diameter 13 cm, weight 2 kg, E17 fitting, in fair condition with heavy use and possible missing parts, but in working order and with a rotatable shade.
Description from the seller
A Hala Zeist desk lamp designed by H. Busquet, representative of the Dutch manufacturer’s functional and understated post-war aesthetic. The cylindrical shade with integrated viewing panel and balanced proportions reflects the clarity of design associated with Hala’s mid-century production. The shade can be rotated and altered to desired angle.
The lamp retains its original painted finish, which now shows oxidation and patination consistent with age and use. The surface wear is even and honest, contributing to its utilitarian character rather than detracting from it. The chromed elements show corresponding age-related dulling. Overall, it presents as a genuine, unrefinished example.
