Description from the seller
Pairs of Limoges enamels signed M.Bétourné - master enamellist.
Charming pair of miniature pieces in enamel painted on copper from Limoges, signed on the front and bearing on the back the workshop label "M.Bétourné - Master enamellist - Limoges".
The scenes depict:
* A winter landscape animated by a figure with an umbrella.
* A woodland landscape with birches in autumnal tones.
Traditional technique of Limoges enamels: painting with vitrified enamel followed by firing at a high temperature. The colors show notable depth and a slight relief characteristic of this artisanal technique.
The plaques are presented in their original glass-fronted wood cases, black lacquered with gold decor, perfectly suited to the production period (around 1950-1970).
A fine decorative and collectible ensemble, typical of the Limoges enamellist tradition.
Good overall condition, some slight signs of age on the frames, without aesthetic impact. Enamels intact, with no cracks or restorations; see photos as they are part of the description.
