Giorgio Vigna voor Iittala – Sculpturale glazen vogel – Gesigneerd en gedateerd 2007 – Mondgeblazen – Finland

Een krachtig en sculpturaal glaskunstobject ontworpen door de Italiaanse kunstenaar Giorgio Vigna voor de Finse glasfabriek Iittala, geproduceerd in 2007.

Deze vogel behoort niet tot de bekende folkloristische Toikka-lijn, maar tot de meer artistieke en conceptuele samenwerkingen die Iittala in de jaren 2000 realiseerde met internationale ontwerpers. Het resultaat is een object dat zich bevindt op het snijvlak van design en autonome glaskunst.

Beschrijving

De vogel is uitgevoerd in zwaar, massief helder glas met een ingesmolten zwarte, organisch vloeiende baan die als een grafische penseelstreek door het lichaam loopt.

De vorm is minimalistisch en gestileerd:
	•	Langgerekte, horizontale belijning
	•	Subtiel gemodelleerde kop en snavel
	•	Volumineuze, transparante body
	•	Zware stabiele basis

De combinatie van helder glas en diep zwart geeft het object een architectonische uitstraling. Afhankelijk van lichtinval verandert de intensiteit van de zwarte kern — een typisch kenmerk van hoogwaardig mondgeblazen studioglas.
