Original woodblock print - Paper - Noel Nouet (1885-1969) - Nihonbashi - Japan - Showa period (1926 - 1989)

The first edition of this design was published in 1936. The current print is from a later edition, using the original woodblocks.

The measurements of the image itself (excluding the margins) are 36.4 x 24.1 cm.

Noel Nouet, a French painter, illustrator, designer, and poet, dedicated a significant portion of his life to Japan. During his stay in Japan, he sketched various scenes of Tokyo and other locations, which were later featured in publications by the renowned newspaper, Japan Times. Notably, more than two dozen of his artworks were transformed into woodblock prints in the shin hanga style by the esteemed Doi Publisher in the latter half of the 1930s.

The woodblock print is in excellent condition

Will be shipped with great care in sturdy packaging to prevent folding.
