Godin A4 fretless bass from Canada in excellent condition with a Linden body, maple neck and solid spruce top, 34" scale, fully functional, and includes guitar cable, original case, jack cable, strings and strap.
Description from the seller
FRETLESS !!!
Like all instruments in the A-series, the A4 features multiple resonant chambers carved into the body from American basswood. The top is solid spruce. The neck is maple and screwed on. The fingerboard is Richlite, a composite material that replaces ebony. The fingerboard radius is 12 inches and the scale length is 34 inches.
The Godin A4 fretless basses produce a sound reminiscent of the acoustic double bass, but offer the advantage of being lighter and less heavy. The double acoustic chamber design, characteristic of Godin’s A-series instruments (guitars, etc.), is also applied to the A4 basses. This design eliminates the risk of feedback and minimizes damage to the top caused by high stage volumes.
Vibrations of the solid cedar top are also controlled by a reinforcement system similar to that of a cello.
It has a Jazz Bass neck, so very round and not very wide. After playing it you get the odd sensation that the scale is longer (even though it is really 34 inches).
The higher frets are easy to reach, no big heel.
The shape is relatively simple, I only play it sitting down, it is incredibly comfortable to play!
Okay, it is a bit heavy, but I think most people who use it will be playing seated...
Strap button so you can move around.
Similar version - this one has a thumb rest - the one sold is not, and is black! https://youtu.be/0raxU7vrEP4
