Rare Radius SE Accelerator (16MHz 68020) - Iconic Macintosh SE Upgrade (1987)
Description:
A unique piece of Silicon Valley history: the Radius SE Accelerator from 1987. Produced by Radius Inc., a legendary company founded by key figures from the original Apple Macintosh team. This card was at the time the ultimate solution to upgrade a Macintosh SE to the performance of a Macintosh II.
Technical Highlights:
Processor: Equipped with a Motorola 68020 CPU running at 16 MHz.
FPU Socket: Includes a blank socket for an optional 68881 math co-processor.
Firmware: The original Radius ROM chips with white stickers are still present and undamaged.
Design: Executed on the iconic black PCB that was characteristic of Radius's high-end products.
Condition:
The card is in excellent visual condition, the PDS connector is slightly damaged (plastic). The gold-plated connector pins and the traces on the PCB are clean and show no signs of corrosion or damage from leaking batteries from a motherboard/system. Due to the absence of a suitable vintage Macintosh, the card is sold as untested.
