Description from the seller
A very extensive and complete set of the famous historical work “Vaderlandsche Historie” by Jan Wagenaar, consisting of 21 volumes.
This edition was printed in Amsterdam by Johannes Allart in the late 18th century (circa 1790–1796) and is regarded as an important reissue of this standard work on the history of the Netherlands.
The set is special in that it is equipped with fold-out maps and engravings, including detailed historical maps. These are all present, which considerably increases the collectible value.
The books cover the history of the Low Countries from the earliest times up to the 18th century and form an important reference work within Dutch historiography. The series is complete. In some volumes the spine is slightly damaged.
